Purpose

To inform faculty/staff the university does not assume any responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to their personal property, even if the property is brought to the University and used in connection with the staff member’s work.

Policy

The University does not assume any responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to employee’s personal property. If an employee brings their personal property on University premises, even when used in connection with the employee’s work, the employee is responsible for any damage or destruction. Faculty/staff planning to bring personal property on campus is advised to contact their insurance agent to secure the appropriate coverage. Personal property brought to University premises should carry a sticker, prominently displayed, identifying the owner.
